Hi, I’m Gina!
Birth-work has always been something that’s interested me as an adult, and I have been consistently drawn to helping pregnant loved ones in my life. When I had my son, he was a big surprise, and I entered the parenting world as a single mom. Years later, I was married, ready to have my second baby, and thought that because I had more resources financially and with my husband, postpartum would be a breeze.
Of course, the joke was on me and even though I knew not to feel shame in needing to ask for help, I didn’t really get what my family and I needed from traditional sources. Completing the postpartum depression surveys honestly at doctor’s visits didn’t produce many results, extending my leave wasn’t possible at work, and friends and family who I thought could relate offered well-meaning, but often shallow advice.
It wasn’t until a loved one insisted on coming over for a long weekend and took over all of the loose ends for a few days that I realized that this practical, non-judgmental, witnessing and support was exactly what we needed. After experiencing that kind of love and seeing the long-lasting, positive effects it had on my family and I, I became passionate about focusing on postpartum care and parental support.
What I aim to create with you, is a partnership that validates what you and your family might be experiencing. I focus on providing gentle support and guidance, to help you feel less like you’re surviving and more like you’re thriving through the potentially tenuous postpartum period and beyond.
